The media are not toys… they can be entrusted only to new artists, because they are art forms.

Hervé is lazy

year : 2023
technique : 3D

As part of the Plastic Practices and Mediation course, we have been asked to design an experimental role-playing game that can be played collectively or individually, with or without a game master. It is necessary to develop a lore that involves visual, digital, interactive and visual or non-visual elements, all by imagining an innovative and singular game that uses innovative techniques. Lynn, Eloise, Titouan and I have conceptualised a game, Hervé, using a physical puppet and AR.

Several teams are in charge of Hervé's body. Each team controls an arm (the more teams there are, the more arms there are), and each arm gives access to different objects (left-handed, right-handed). His ultimate goal: to finish his rendering before falling asleep. His only problem is fatigue. The game starts when Hervé comes home from work, exhausted, he lies down in bed to rest a little before finishing his project, but then laziness sets in and we have to help him overcome it. To do that, we're going to have to get some energy back before the laziness has totally wiped him out, but be careful, there are distractions everywhere. We're going to have to make the right choices and communicate, to counteract the sluggishness.
