The media are not toys… they can be entrusted only to new artists, because they are art forms.

Versailles is a video I made in March 2022 as part of my DN_MADe Graphisme course. The assignment was to transcribe a page from the magazine "Ça m'intéresse". After analysing the request and carrying out a market study, I explored different avenues such as flat design in motion, watercolour in stop-motion and finally 3D production. It was this last idea that I chose to develop.

I defined a concept and a coherent guideline by looking for different inspirations. Then I created a colour chart, chose the appropriate typography, drew up a script and produced a storyboard. As the information was grouped into three categories, I decided to illustrate it through three moving pictures that represent the spirit of Versailles. I started by choosing an appropriate royalty-free model, then placed the lights according to the principle of the three points of light. Then I worked on the procedural texture to match the luxurious Versailles marble. Finally, I adjusted the colourimetry using DaVinci Resolve, then added the animated text using After Effect to bring the video to life.

To get the best possible result, I put together a team to support me: André Le Gall, who helped me with the renderings thanks to his technical mastery of Blender software, Laura Giteau, a harpist at the Conservatoire, who played the music, and Léonard Da Souza, who generously lent his voice and took care of the sound mixing and sound effects. This project also gave me the opportunity to lead a creative team around my work as a graphic designer and art director. I wanted to tell you more about this project because it was my first experience of 3D creation. It gave me the opportunity to experiment virtually with my lighting skills, which I use in the creation of short films. Following this project, I went on to create 3D works of my own.

I've done more research into texture and light.
To do this I experimented with various possibilities
